Goof Troop Practice Cart

The first romhack for practicing Goof Troop speedruns on the SNES, with IGT and RNG on screen, practice commands and fixes for flashcart savestates.

Goof Troop is full of RNG and rooms you end up replaying a lot while practicing. To practice speedruns without replaying everything after each mistake, I made the game’s first practice romhack.

Features

  • fixes the audio and crash issues when using flashcart savestates (SuperUFO Pro 8)
  • shows the IGT, the current RNG and the players’ X/Y position on screen
  • the IGT resets after the stage is completed

Commands

A few shortcuts work while playing:

  • Start+X: switches to the next game RNG
  • Start+A: disables the “dark room”
  • Start+Y: cycles the player’s lives
  • Start+B: cycles the player’s hearts
  • Start+Select: resets the current room (beta)
  • Start+Up: advances to the next room (beta)

Lives and hearts currently affect both players.
