Latin America Soccer

The Latin America Soccer 1998 romhack with its copy protection removed by restoring the original instructions, and the copier header stripped.

Another football romhack that was stuck behind copy protection: Latin America Soccer, the 1998 version with Latin American national teams and Spanish menus, built on top of Fever Pitch Soccer.

What was done

The original dump was sent by Carlos Baldo (chbaldo). As with other romhacks of this kind, the protection changed parts of the game code, and the fix was to restore those original instructions.

This version includes:

  • original instructions restored to defeat the copy protection
  • copier header removed
  • internal title fixed to LATIN AMERICA SOCCER

Credits

Thanks to Carlos Baldo for dumping the cartridge and testing.

The release includes the fixed ROM, the assembly patch and the original dump.
